Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving weekend was great. We had dinner with our friends the Eberts. It is nice to be with people on the holidays when we can't be with family. Deborah will hate me for posting this picture. She wasn't really going after the food like that, I just caught her being silly. We both made a lot of food and we had plenty of pies and treats. Pumpkin Pie, Banana Cream, Pecan, Pumpkin Roll, Chocolate Bon Bons and even good old M&M's. Cam slept through dinner which was kind of nice, and I'm not sure where the littlest Ebert was in these pictures, but he is so cute! The kids played and played and the adults were able to play a little Killer Bunnies.

To my sister-in-laws, just letting you know that Matt liked my new apron:)

Troopers & other thoughts

There have been a lot of battles going on at our house lately. The boys love the Star Wars Clone Troopers new shows. Poor things have to watch them all tiny on the internet though. They crafted these helmets out of paper and they have held up mighty well!  They can hardly see through the eye holes and so when Matt plays with them, they make easy targets.

In other news, we had snow flurries yesterday so the boys got to open their snow presents. They each got a star wars guy and they were soooo excited. Cam calls his Soda(Yoda) and the Wheesy(Horsey, or the thing Yoda is riding).

I finally mopped my kitchen floor, did my dishes and the laundry is almost done--I never get all the way done. Maybe this is boring news, but I felt good about the floor!

I read Pres. Uchtdorf's message from the Relief Society broadcast and it made me feel HAPPY. You can read it here.  Favorite quote:  "The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul."

I have been doing a lot of photography lately so if you want to see, check out my photography blog--and leave me a comment:)

On election night the boys were having a political discussion.  I was impressed and I laughed hard when Sam corrected Nate saying "It is George "W" Bush, not George Bush."  Duh!  I'm pretty sure I didn't know the presidents whole name when I was five, or the candidates running.  Kids are smart these days!

I'm pretty sad because there is no candy corn to be found in the stores anymore.  I love those things, but it is probably better for my teeth this way.  Good thing they start putting out Halloween decorations in the summer.

Lastly, I can't wait for this weekend.  Fun in Utah, and the Twilight movie!

Flashback to Summer Sleepover

I had to get rid of that slideshow, the music starting up every time was driving me crazy!

I Heart Fall

Fall is my favorite season until spring blossoms. I know that doesn't make sense but it is hard pick a favorite when you have such beautiful springs and falls! We went to the "mountains" a few weeks ago. We were a little early for the good fall color and then by the time we could go again the leaves had all fallen. We enjoyed a nice hike and lots of playing with sticks. The viewpoints along the road were fun to stop at. I love the picture of Matt looking over the edge. He looks happy to me. He was watching the boys climb on the rocks below him.

Halloween

We had so much fun on Halloween night and we were glad to have friends to share it with.  The kids were excited to go trick or treating and they all looked cute in their costumes.  While they finished going around the whole neighborhood, Rebecca and I finished getting dinner ready.  The witches brew was a hit but they weren't so sure about some of the other food.  (eyeballs, fingers, goblin guts???)  They ate plenty of candy so we know they didn't go hungry.  Then the kids watched movies and the adults had a good game of Canasta until we decided we probably should go to sleep.  (3am)  Now we have to wait a whole year to do it again!

Getting Ready...

I love Halloween. Here are a few things we have done to get ready.

Ghosts in the entry.  (Thanks to Andrea and Ru for the stuff)

Spooky tree from Pottery Barn for $5!!!  (Thanks to Ru's good eyes.)

Creepy piano for my recital.

Flowers from my sweetheart.

Fredericksburg Battlefield

We visited a new battlefield with Ru. It was humbling to learn about the awful battles there in Fredericksburg and the surrounding areas during the Civil War. Those men seem incredibly brave to me! It is a beautiful area now, and it was neat to see part of the original sunken wall that was there so long ago. The cemetery wall still shows signs of being hit by canonballs and bullets.

After the battlefield we walked around Historic Fredericksburg and had lunch at a fun place called Sammy T's that had very interesting food. Ru had to buy us some fudge to eat on the way home, mmmmmm.

Annual Cox Farm Visit

There are going to be a LOT of pictures in this post. Cox Farm was perfect this year. It was a gorgeous day, not too crowded, and the boys loved it--maybe as much as Nana! Their tractor ride is so fun. Favorite parts are when the star wars music plays and the aliens come down to the tractor,(They always surprise at least one of my boys and this year it was Nate) and the barn with the lights and music.
The best slide this year was the volcano slide, well, maybe the huge dinosaur slide, well, maybe the castle slides, maybe the tunnel slide. The slides are fun enough that I am glad to have Cameron as an excuse to go down myself. Actually, he did not want help and he did great on his own. The boys seemed to slide extra fast this year.
At the end of the day we each got to pick a pumpkin and now they can't wait to carve them.  We are so glad that Nana could come out to go with us.  Cox Farm wouldn't be the same without her now.

The view from the top of the Dino slide.  We tried to have races down but all lanes are not created equal on that slide.

My worried goat feeders.  The goats do get aggressive so I don't blame them for being cautious.  They bit Cams food out of his hands in about 2 seconds.  I thought it was so cute of Nate to hold his hand and take care of him.
The goat whisperer.
Cam did the cutest scootchy (Is that a word?) thing with his legs on this slide.
Sam kept twisting and coming out almost backwards.
Nate and Spence would slide and then stand right up.  They were cracking us up.

So cute how they were giving fives to each other on the way down.

This was the entrance to a new section called Cornundrum. It was a corn maze with fun things along the way like a twirling vortex in the dark. Cam was completely freaked out by this gorilla. We had to ask him to walk away so we could get in. I love that the boys thought it was real.

See what a beautiful day!!!

Some of the animals we saw.  The always have a batch? of new piglets.  You can't believe how tiny they are compared to their huge mama.  Piggies are so cute, I guess I still kinda like them.
